Acorn Private Equity staff begin working remotely for SA lockdown period
On Thursday, 5 March 2020 South Africa reported its first confirmed case of COVID-19. Countries the world over have been responding to the pandemic since December 2019 and many countries have enforced strict lockdown periods. As of midnight on Thursday, 26 March 2020 South Africa will join these ranks and begin its 21-day lockdown period in a drastic effort to contain the outbreak.
Acorn Private Equity supports this governmental decision and as such, its staff began working from home on Wednesday, 25 March 2020. Our two office phone lines are still operational and our investment team is continuing with remote working during this period.
The Acorn team is committed to the preservation of as many South African jobs as possible during this crisis period and will undertake the task of researching all financial aid available to our SMME investee companies. The team will assist our portfolio companies, where possible, in the application processes of applicable aid.
